What is Fair Trade?
People often ask: Why fair trade?
When Tumi started in 1978 the word fairtrade was not used in the same way as it is today. But there are organisations in the UK such as Tearcraft and later Tradecrafts and Tumi who developed the concept and tried to show others that you can make viable business in a capitalist society whilst being fair and just with the people who provide you with the income, often the artesans who live in developing countries.

This is a smaller version of the adult poncho - it can be worn by a child or, alternatively, as in this picture, by an adult. When laid out flat the poncho measures 133cm in length (including the fringes at both ends of approx 4cm) and 56cm in width. Alhough much lighter than the adult full poncho, it is still warm and cosy. Hand made out of sheeps wool in Ecuador. Also available in pale grey with dark brown decoration, other colours also available. |
