What is Fair Trade?
People often ask: Why fair trade?
When Tumi started in 1978 the word fairtrade was not used in the same way as it is today. But there are organisations in the UK such as Tearcraft and later Tradecrafts and Tumi who developed the concept and tried to show others that you can make viable business in a capitalist society whilst being fair and just with the people who provide you with the income, often the artesans who live in developing countries.

This spinning top comes in 3 pieces – the spinner, a piece of cord and a wooden handle. Wind the cord around the top part of the spinner, place the wooden “handle” over the wound cord and pull the end of the cord through the side hole. Now you are ready to let go – pull the cord as hard as you can letting go of the spinner at the same time. It will spin for a very long time. Hand made in Mexico. |
