What is Fair Trade?

People often ask: Why fair trade?

When Tumi started in 1978 the word fairtrade was not used in the same way as it is today. But there are organisations in the UK such as Tearcraft and later Tradecrafts and Tumi who developed the concept and tried to show others that you can make viable business in a capitalist society whilst being fair and just with the people who provide you with the income, often the artesans who live in developing countries.

We have a wide range of unusual hand made glass jewellery from Mexico and India. The venetian style glass drops are hand made in India and come on contrasting colour organza ribbons. We also have Indian glass pendants available on sterling silver chains.

Our Mexican glass jewellery is designed exclusively for Tumi by Emma H de Moronatti in her workshop in Taxco, Mexico. The dichroic range includes dichroic glass earrings, dichroic glass pendants, glass cufflinks and dichroic bracelets all in wonderful colour combinations. Also popular is her opalo range that catches the light beautifully. This includes pendants, earrings and bracelets. Her water and glass ranges combine colours beautifully and the glass earrings are set in sterling silver. Her beach pendants include tiny shells set in glass.
