What is Fair Trade?
People often ask: Why fair trade?
When Tumi started in 1978 the word fairtrade was not used in the same way as it is today. But there are organisations in the UK such as Tearcraft and later Tradecrafts and Tumi who developed the concept and tried to show others that you can make viable business in a capitalist society whilst being fair and just with the people who provide you with the income, often the artesans who live in developing countries.

Q'ero-In search of the Last Incas is a documentary about the Q'eros, a community of Peruvian Indians, believed to be the last survivors of the Inca bloodline. Researched and produced by Mo Fini, the founder of Tumi UK who has worked and travelled in Latin America over the last thirty years, it provides a rare insight into the culture, mythology and spiritual values of the Andean people. The film follows the demanding journey to reach the remote and inaccessible community, examines the fabric of their rural mountain existence, their music, rituals and culminates in their annual pilgrimage to the Quoylleriti Festival. The dvd features music by Expresion, Pachatusan and Inti Raymi. |
