What is Fair Trade?
People often ask: Why fair trade?
When Tumi started in 1978 the word fairtrade was not used in the same way as it is today. But there are organisations in the UK such as Tearcraft and later Tradecrafts and Tumi who developed the concept and tried to show others that you can make viable business in a capitalist society whilst being fair and just with the people who provide you with the income, often the artesans who live in developing countries.

This penguin is one of a kind as instead of nodding he flaps his wings. Made from the seed of a fruit tree that grows in the state of Guerrero, Mexico, his wings are mobile so any air movement will move them. Ideally place them somewhere near an open window or door so they keep on moving. Sizes vary as the body is a seed which is not uniform but as a guide, 5-6cm long. They are hand painted and colours vary. |
